Saturday all stars

In a sea of black shirts (there was a photography event happening, and photographers always wear black shirts (even when they don’t need to) no matter how hot. I still don’t get it.) and short people, their bright colored clothes and, as this picture shows, height, made them stand out. It’s Allison Harvard and Dominique Reighard of America’s Next Top Model! Alison was from Cycle 12, and Dominique Cycle 10, then both returned for the All Stars season. They were so sweet and kind when people asked for photos with them. Alison was just like what I saw in ANTM, she seemed so meek and dainty! And Dominique’s beauty was just striking. I wish I had her color! They’re both here for the Bench Philippine Fashion Week (PFW) runway show. And I think they had a shoot for their Bench campaigns which I am excited to see.

And that night, I got to see two more stars…Mario Mauer was just charming, such a cutie! I still feel kilig when I remember his movie A Crazy Thing Called Love (read about it here). When I saw him, I couldn’t help but smile. If I’m not mistaken, Mario was the second international endorser for the brand, right after Ed Westwick. The followed by Zac Efron (rumored to visit the country soon! EEP!) and Ian Somerhalder.

And to complete the Penshoppe All Star campaign, they added Leighton! Oh.my.god. Leighton’s super pretty! And fresh! Actually, scratch off pretty. Elaine was right, she’s gorgeous!!!! And she looked like such a darling. (And I love the shoes!)

Who knew that all these current stars would fly here to endorse something local?! Never in a million years would I imagine. Akala ko hanggang Jerry Yan and other asian stars lang ang kaya, but no. Just this week, Joe Jonas and Ian Somerhalder were here! (Elaine was lucky enough to meet Ian!!!!)

Thank you Elaine for letting me tag along. It’s always fun to hang out with you and Russ :)

Anong hiya-hiya? Go na!

Grabe pala this show, it can suck the energy out of you!

Realizations of the day:
- Hindi pala madali maging audience member! You have to smile, (lip) sing a little, and dance.
- Mahirap magpa-picture with the hosts. Once they cut the show for commercial, run to where the artista’s are and just ask to have your picture taken with them. It helps if you have a friend who’s willing to take the photo for you. (Usually better done in two’s and have one another hold each other’s camera.) People will usually stop you if it’s really not possible. And the kind ones usually entertain when they’re not busy.
- And, once you’re there, you’d forget everything you planned to have a low profile and you’ll just do whatever in the name of fun. And a little camera time.

Proof! May TFC logo, may lines na TV effect. I really was on TV!
Thanks for the screen caps, My!

Special thanks to Hershey who gave us the opportunity to be a part of the Showtime Madlang People. We had soooooo much fun. (Party! Party!) Medyo nabawasan lang ang dignidad namin, pero ok lang since its all in the name of fun. Because I cannot express how much fun we had. That’s the important thing naman diba? Man, I’d do it all over again.

Next goal: ASAP Rocks.

It’s time to go to war!

The craziness did not end when Chonx and I flew to Singapore for an overnight stay last year just to watch 30 Seconds to Mars perform live. They went here to third world Philippines and performed! Another memorable experience for the books — first press con ever (thanks to Elaine!), watching 30STM concert under the rain with boys screaming “I love you, Jared!” more than girls. Plus, Jared said “Manila, ikaw na!” How’s that for originality?! Best concert of the year!

The circus is in town!

Varekai was A-MA-ZING! From the photos palang the costumes looked great, and they did not disappoint. And grabe sa stunts! My brain was like “look to you right, something’s happening. But there’s something to your left!” it was like watching a tennis ball going from left to right, except that there was no ball being passed around. Hindi ako maka-clap kasi I was so mesmerized and amazed byt everything. I think my mouth was open the whole time.

Thank you for setting up tent (literally and figuratively) in the Philippines!

PS: Walang sinabi ang egg roll ko.

What made me smile today [04.19.11]

Hit play.

I’m in love with Bruno Mars!!! His live concert performance was awesome. (Kahit na late na nag-start.) He sounded (almost) the same as his records.

Maximum zoom capabilities of Lulu (my camera) from our bleachers seats

He can sing AND dance! Well, not dance like Mark Ballas can, but at least he has groove. And I’m glad he knows that he’s Pinoy.

And speaking of Pinoy, this cutie pie hunk is also a Filipino! I found out lang when he opened for Bruno Mars.

This is a portion of the video he made of his visit to Cavite

Eeee, ang cute lang ng smile ni Blue Ranger!

I thought Bruno Mars was Puerto Rican or something. But come to think of it, Bruno is such a Pinoy name. (And may news pa na dumating sa akin na he’s related to the Gutierrez’s (as in Ruffa G)!) Tipong pangalan ng mga aso (bulldog?) at mga kontrabida. And then Michael Copon had Hawiaan or Native American (mga tipong pang wolf pack sa Twilight, kasama ni Taylor Lautner) look in my mind. But, syempre its nice to know that they are part Filipino. Though I can’t really call them that since they didn’t grow here and I think that that night was the first time the’ve ever been here.

Sana lang they come back. (And I bump into them) But I hope hindi sila “magasgas” by guesting in ASAP, (or God forbid Party Pilipinas) mala-Kris Lawrence and Jasmine Trias.

Sparks fly

All about love and heartbreak, and love and heartbreak, and love and heartbreak. Because I’m such a sap — and she’s adorable! — I love her.

I think this was the fastest selling concert here in Manila ever! Elaine and I got our tickets the 3rd week and the best that we could get were Upper Box B tickets. Boohoo. We lined up as early as 3pm and the line was already long! Most of the people naman were organized and were following the rules. So wala namang drama sa line. Pero may ibang parents na mga stage mother na grabe makipag-tulakan at unahan sa seats!

She sang her Speak Now album songs (Speak Now is my favorite song!), and a her best hits from her past 2 albums like Love Story and You Belong with Me (my fave!).

This was the part where she was singing Fearless (I think, Elaine, correct me if I’m wrong) accompanied by her ukelele. She infused the song with Jason Mraz’s I’m Yours and Train’s Hey Soul Sister.

This is Taylor with her signature bedazzled guitar.

Dear Taylor, it was enchating to meet you! I love your dresses, your curly hair and your pa-tweetums vibe. Expect Elaine and I to not wait for the last minute to buy tickets for your next concert. We will be there near the stage, if pwede sa mosh pit, dun kami!, with all our glittered fangirl sutff.
