Anyare, bigla akong naging workaholic?!

I will be the first to admit that I am lazy. I am pro-life out of the office. I love vacations. I love hanging out. But in the last 4 months, I have accumulated 200gb worth of movies and series that I have yet to watch. I am not done watching The Walking Dead nor have I started with Game of Thrones. And last episode na daw ng second season next week! Waaah. Loser alert!

And with friends who are either 1) too busy with work, too, or 2) too busy hanging out with other friends (uy, bitter!), and with family that doesn’t require much quality time together, I get to spend late nights in the office or weekends at home (and if there’s weekend work, I work at home). Ah, I’m a slave. I sometimes even miss dinners even though when I’m working from home. And this is usually not by choice. I really have to make up for that.

Again, anyare?! I don’t know!

BUUUUUT with all the personal time I gave up for work, there’s something good that came put of it. I’ve met new people, and it seems like they’ve accepted me to be part of their team, too. (I’m hoping na hindi sila forced!) Actually, a few hours after I joined my immediate team, I’ve already sort of bonded with them. And the bigger team seems (yes, I will be using “seems” since I do not want to assume. Haha! Playing safe!) to be pleased with me too. Yay! Plus, I’ve also learned some tips, tricks and kalokohan (haha!) here, things I would never have learned if I stuck to the ‘safe side’

And, and, and, my immediate team gave me an award at the most recent Pat on the Back (it’s an awarding ceremony where the hosting team makes up these categories and then we nominate and vote for one another.) —

O diba? I am now an Award Winning Artist! (Pagbigyan!) Now I do not know if they gave this award whole heartedly (I am hoping they did!) but for someone who’s not an achiever, competitive, making me someone who has not received any kind of award while studying, it feels good to be recognized kahit papaano. Ganito pala ang feeling. It’s like food for the soul. It’s like they are telling me that I’m doing well in coping with the tasks given to me (kahit na madaming revisions and late ako magbigay sometimes). Nakikita pala nila ang effort ko!

It’s just good to know that even with my short comings, I’m doing something right.

And that night, I got to see two more stars…Mario Mauer was just charming, such a cutie! I still feel kilig when I remember his movie A Crazy Thing Called Love (read about it here). When I saw him, I couldn’t help but smile. If I’m not mistaken, Mario was the second international endorser for the brand, right after Ed Westwick. The followed by Zac Efron (rumored to visit the country soon! EEP!) and Ian Somerhalder.

And to complete the Penshoppe All Star campaign, they added Leighton! Oh.my.god. Leighton’s super pretty! And fresh! Actually, scratch off pretty. Elaine was right, she’s gorgeous!!!! And she looked like such a darling. (And I love the shoes!)

Who knew that all these current stars would fly here to endorse something local?! Never in a million years would I imagine. Akala ko hanggang Jerry Yan and other asian stars lang ang kaya, but no. Just this week, Joe Jonas and Ian Somerhalder were here! (Elaine was lucky enough to meet Ian!!!!)

It reminded me of my New York’s Museum of Natural History (my favorite!), they had different sections: Universe, Life and another one I can’t remember. Oops. My favorite was Universe because I’ve always been fascinated with stars and planets (I really thought that I could be an astronaut when I was young). Plus they had this super duper mini planetarium, too! Then in the Life section, you get to find out about atoms, plants, the earth. The third section is more modern, there are games, art, language, literature and music.

It’s pretty cool since you get to learn new things, or revisit the things you learned in grade and high school. And it’s interactive! You can touch most of the stuf on display! And it’s a known fact that kids learn more when they experience things.

Try to visit The Mind Museum. It’s Php450 for students & teachers, and Php600 for adults. You can buy tickets via their website (here) or on the day itself.
